SnagBane installs as an app on phones, tablets and computers directly from your own SnagBane site — no app store. It opens without browser bars, shows your organisation's name and colour, and notifies approvers when a request waits for them, so they can approve with one tap. The phone app is part of the Business plan.
Installing it
- Open SnagBane in the phone's browser and sign in. Under Approvals you'll see Approvals on your phone.
- Tap Install app where the browser offers it (Chrome and Edge on Android and desktop). On iPhone and iPad, add SnagBane to the Home Screen from Safari and open it from there.
- Tap Turn on notifications and allow them. Each device is turned on separately.
The app icon shows how many requests are waiting, where the phone supports badges. Everyone can find the instructions under Phone app in the menu.
Private by design
A push notification carries no content. The phone is only told that something is new; the app then asks your own SnagBane server what is waiting. Form titles, names and answers never pass through Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft.
Requirements
- SnagBane on an https:// address (browsers allow installable apps and notifications only on secure sites).
- Outbound HTTPS from your server to the browsers' push services.
- iPhone and iPad: iOS / iPadOS 16.4 or later, with the app added to the Home Screen.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an app in the App Store or Google Play?
No. SnagBane is installed from your own site as a web app (PWA). That means nothing to publish, nothing for IT to approve in a store, and it always matches your installation's version.
Can approvers without the app still decide?
Yes. Every approver gets an email with a personal approval link, and Teams users can approve in Microsoft Teams.
Does it work offline?
If the connection drops, the app shows an offline page instead of an error; deciding needs a connection to your SnagBane server.
