The short version
SnagBane is software you install on your own server. The forms, answers, files and accounts in your SnagBane installation are stored in your database and are never sent to us — for that data your organisation is the controller (see GDPR and data protection). This website uses no analytics or advertising trackers and sets no cookies of its own; only the trial request page loads Google reCAPTCHA, which sets its own cookie to tell people from bots.
Who we are
“SnagBane”, the developer of the SnagBane software, is the controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at contact@snagbane.com; Freemius, Inc., our reseller and merchant of record, can also put you in contact with us.

Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts this website, the download and the update and licence services.
- Freemius, Inc. — checkout, payments, invoices and licence management, as reseller and merchant of record under its own privacy policy.
- Microsoft — our email, meetings and appointment booking (Microsoft 365) for messages and trial requests you send us.
- Google — reCAPTCHA on the trial request page, under Google’s privacy policy and terms.
These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; they describe the safeguards they use in their own privacy policies. We don’t sell personal data and don’t use it for advertising.
Your SnagBane installation
Data inside your installation is controlled by the organisation that runs it. Integrations it sets up (for example Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack or webhooks) send data from that installation directly to those services, under that organisation’s control and their terms. To exercise your rights about such data, contact that organisation.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us as described above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in the country where you live or work.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
